article imageReview: Chase Bryant delights on breakthrough single 'Take It On Back' Special

By Markos Papadatos     Jul 13, 2014 in Music
Country music newcomer Chase Bryant is releasing his debut single, "Take It On Back," tomorrow, on July 14 to radio stations.
"Take It On Back" has a neo-traditional country vibe to it, yet his vocals are pleasant. He really knows how to shred the guitar on this tune. It is a great summer anthem about going back to the person that you love and miss. It has nostalgic lyrics that anybody can relate to, especially his male listeners.
Instrumentally, the production is strong, and the melodies and chorus are infectious. "She was a south Georgia stunner, Hotter than hell in July, We tasted heaven that summer then said goodbye and I don’t know why, Cause we parked down by the river, Steamed up them windows real good, Wish I could go back and see her," Bryant sings.
A 21-year-old Texan, Bryant is signed to Red Bow Records, which is home to such country artists as Joe Nichols and David Fanning. As indicated in the biography section of his homepage, it is evident that music is in his blood, since his grandfather played piano for Roy Orbison's first two bands, as well as for country legend Waylon Jennings.
The Verdict
Overall, Chase Bryant garners 4 out of 5 stars for his new single "Take It On Back," which indicates that he is off to a good start. This song has a great deal of potential for the young country singer, and I can definitely hear it in a soundtrack of a romance film. I hope that happens.
