article imageReview: Carrie Underwood delivers on new single 'Something in the Water' Special

By Markos Papadatos     Oct 6, 2014 in Music
Country star Carrie Underwood has released her new inspirational single "Something in the Water," via Sony Music Nashville.
Underwood co-wrote the uplifting new single with songwriters Chris DeStefano and Brett James. It was subsequently produced by acclaimed producer Mark Bright. It is the lead single from the first volume of her forthcoming Greatest Hits: Decade # 1 album.
"Something in the Water" is such a delicate vocal performance about faith. She displays her tremendous vocal range on this power-ballad and she send chills down to one's spine. She maintains superb control over her crystalline vocals. The listener can easily recall a little of Martina McBride on this tune, and that ought to be taken as a major compliment.
"Live every day, give it all that I have, Trust in someone bigger than me, Ever since the day that I believed I am changed, And now I'm stronger," Underwood sings.
The Verdict
Overall, "Something in the Water" is one of Carrie Underwood's best radio singles to date. It is a high-quality Christian country single about grace and redemption. Its lyrics are optimistic and inspiring. The song garners an A rating.
