article imageReview: Blake Shelton back with new country single 'Neon Light' Special

By Markos Papadatos     Aug 30, 2014 in Music
Country superstar Blake Shelton is back with his newest single "Neon Light," which has a bluesy vibe to it, and it rocks.
It is the lead single from his forthcoming studio album, Bringing Back the Sunshine, which will be out on September 30, via his record label, Warner Music Nashville. It has already made the Top 20 on the Billboard Hot Country Airplay and the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, after charting for only one week, sitting at No. 18 on both charts.
"Neon Light" is the follow-up single to "My Eyes," his chart-topping duet with country singer and alumna from The Voice, Gwen Sebastian. It was co-penned by songwriters Andrew Dorff, Mark Irwin and Josh Kear. It was produced by Scott Hendricks, his long-time collaborator. The song is about trying to overcome a failing romance, and for the narrator to mend his broken heart. It is optimistic, and many listeners can relate to its positive message.
"There's a neon light at the end of the tunnel, It ain't all that bright, but even though it's subtle, It's got me feeling alright, go on and make it a double, There's a neon light at the end of the tunnel," Shelton sings.
The Verdict
Blake Shelton's "Neon Light" deserves 4 out of 5 stars. It is a great introduction to his forthcoming album, and judging from his tune, fans ought to look forward to some neat country tunes from their reigning Country Music Association (CMA) "Male Vocalist of the Year" winner.
