Review: Big Shot’s Mike DelGuidice covers Paul McCartney’s ‘Blackbird’

“This goes out to my kids. I used to sing this to them when they were babies. It’s the only thing that got them to go to sleep. It’s a little McCartney for you,” DelGuice said, as he introduced the song.

His rendition of “Blackbird” was acoustic, subtle and captivating at the same time. The control he maintains over his voice is impressive.

This performance was a part of “Princeton Tonight,” which premieres on Saturday, Feb. 27 on Comcast/Verizon on Channel 20 in Central New Jersey.

DelGuidice will be performing at The Paramount in Huntington on Feb. 27, along with his Billy Joel tribute band Big Shot.

The Verdict

Mike DelGuidice proves that his talent is indeed limitless. He is able to cover such artists as Billy Joel and Paul McCartney with ease, while simultaneously staying true to his original material, and his own artistry. His version of “Blackbird” garners an A rating.
