Looking for a top-notch wedding song? Look no further. Country newcomer Ben Rue's "I Can't Wait (Be My Wife)" is the perfect fit.
He just got signed to Arista Nashville, and this marks his first major-label debut single. It was produced by Kyle Lehning, who has worked with Grammy-winning country star Randy Travis.
Its music video was directed by Darrin Dickerson and it was subsequently produced by Ghostwater Films.
The song was originally written by the members of the pop-rock band Runner Runner (Ryan Ogren, Peter Munters, Nick Bailey, Jon Berry and James Ulrich), and Rue is successful in giving it his own country twist.
An acoustic ballad, it is a simple yet beautiful vocal performance. The heartfelt lyrics really tell a story and paint a vivid picture in the minds of his listeners, especially the engaged couples, who are getting ready for their big day.
"I can't wait for you to be my wife, To live this life together, And I won't let you go, I need you to know, That you are my heart forever," he sings.
Towards the end of the tune, Rue is singing his own harmonies, which works effectively, and adds another dimension to the song.
Rue's baritone vocals are rich and reminiscent of country singers Keith Urban and Chuck Wicks, the latter of which is known for his own wedding staple "Stealing Cinderella."

The Verdict
Overall, Ben Rue's "I Can't Wait (Be My Wife)" is one of the best country love songs out at the moment, along with Lee Brice's "I Don't Dance." He showcases a tremendous amount of talent and charisma. It is the ideal for the husband and wife first dance at wedding receptions. The song garners 4.5 out of 5 stars. With more rising singers like Ben Rue, the future of country music is in good hands.
