article imageReview: Avi Kaplan of Pentatonix covers smash hit 'All About That Bass' Special

By Markos Papadatos     Sep 30, 2014 in Music
Avi Kaplan from the a-capella group Pentatonix has covered Meghan Trainor's No. 1 hit single "All About That Bass" and he did a solid job with the help of a few friends.
Kaplan is joined by fellow vocalists Mario Jose and Naomi Samilton, both of which soar on harmonies and compliment Kaplan's vocals well. He accompanies himself on acoustic guitar in the song's music video, which was filmed by Ryan Parma.
The way they alter the lyrics of the tune is clever and witty, especially since they perform it from a male's viewpoint. Their corresponding music video, which features french fries and hamburgers, is a real treat that is sure to get the viewer hungry.
This cover has already gone viral and it has captured the attention of many radio stations and outlets throughout the country, including New York's hit music station, Z100.
The Verdict
Avi Kaplan's cover version of "All About That Bass" deserves two thumbs up, as he showcases his rich, baritone vocals. Meghan Trainor will soon be smiling, when she sees this fine rendition of her chart-topping single.
