Review: Alyson Stoner and Blake Lewis charm on a cappella tribute video (Includes first-hand account)

This tribute video is hosted by SoulPancake, and both entertainers pay homage to this year’s nominees for the 2016 Grammy award for “Song of the Year.” Their medley of covers includes such smash hits as Adele’s “Hello,” Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space,” OMI’s “Cheerleader,” The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face,” Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud,” Justin Bieber’s “Sorry,” Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood,” Drake’s “Hotline Bling,” Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth’s “See You Again,” Justin Bieber’s “What Do You Mean?” and Elle King’s “Ex’s and Oh’s.” It has a Pentatonix feel to it, which should be perceived as a compliment.

Stoner’s forthcoming dance single, “Woman,” will be out on February 19.

The Verdict

Overall, this Grammy tribute video is a neat and clever medley, coupled with Alyson Stoner’s breathy vocals and impressive dance moves, as well as Blake Lewis’ vocals and beat-boxing. It garners 4 out of 5 stars.
