article imageReview: Allison Veltz back with gorgeous lyric video for 'Bright Side' Special

By Markos Papadatos     Jun 23, 2014 in Music
On June 23, up-and-coming country songstress Allison Veltz has released a lyric video for her brand new single "Bright Side."
Veltz co-penned the song with creative partner Dan Muckala and Jess Cates. She is signed to Blaster Records.
In the lyric video, Veltz is in search for her lost dog "Penny," and it features both the songstress and her dog in a horizontal split screen, which is a neat way to tell the song's story. Its cinematography is vibrant and colorful, especially the flowers and trees. One of my favorite scenes is when the dog is seen running across the railroad tracks. Veltz herself looks stunning with her curly brunette hair, and her flower dress.
The young songstresses' optimistic message is conveyed throughout the song, and she delivers it the best way possible, with her crystalline vocals. "All I got left is the bright side," she sings angelically.
It is safe to say that the video's ending is cheerful, since she finds her long lost "Penny," and she embraces her with open arms, and both pet and pet-owner are seen happily swinging together on a porch swing.
The Verdict
Overall, Allison Veltz is the country music equivalent of such acclaimed female bluegrass singers as Alison Krauss and Sierra Hull. This lyric video is a great introduction to her talent and vocal ability and it garners 5 out of 5 stars. It is no wonder that she recently made my "Top 10 Female Country Artists to Watch in 2014" list and I back her up wholeheartedly. really hope she makes it big in country, and if she does, I am happy to say that I was one of the very first to recognize her immense singing and songwriting talent.
