Review: Adele phenomenal at Radio City Music Hall in New York City (Includes first-hand account)

She began her set with her latest radio single, “Hello,” which was sheer perfection. The control she maintained over her expressive vocals was impeccable, and she was simultaneously able to silence the entire venue doing so. It was followed by yet another new track from her latest album, 25, “Water Under the Bridge,” and she took her fans on a trip down memory lane to what was arguably the greatest song on her 21 album, “One and Only.”

Adele proved to be one true song stylist the entire evening. “Hometown Glory” was an emotional performance, which she dedicated to the people of Paris, and the stage was graced in an elegant background, which depicted the colors of the French flag. This vocal brought many audience members to tears, and it tugged at the heart.

“We’ve got a surprise coming up halfway through,” she said, in her eloquent British accent, prior to encouraging her fans to singing along with her on “Chasing Pavements.”

After premiering the new tune “All I Ask,” she immediately introduced the piano-driven “Set Fire to the Rain,” which resonated well with the crowd, especially due to its orchestral arrangement.

She continued with “Daydreamer,” and she admitted that she recorded “Skyfall” while she was pregnant, and her voice was “really low” at the time, and it would subsequently win her an Academy Award. “That’s why it’s quite low,” she explained. “It’s really, really fun to do and I hope you enjoy it and please sing along with me,” she added, prior to singing “Skyfall.”

The British songstress blew the roof off Radio City Music Hall thanks her powerful performance of her ballad “Someone Like You,” prior to premiering new music, such as “Million Years Ago” and “When We Were Young.” She closed with her smash single, the upbeat “Rolling in the Deep,” thus leaving her Radio City audience yearning for more.

The Verdict

Overall, Adele’s live show at Radio City Music Hall was spectacular. She had the crowd with her in the palm of her hand, and she delivered beyond belief. Her trademark pipes are quite impeccable live, and this show is a substantial indication that her new CD ought to sell millions of copies. It would be based on sheer talent and merit. Adele’s concert at Radio City Music Hall garnered an A+ rating.
