Review: Adele flawless on new studio album ’25’ (Includes first-hand account)

Adele’s album opens with her superb lead single, the melancholic ballad “Hello,” and she changes the pace with the refreshing and upbeat “Send My Love (To Your New Lover),” which will make the listener clap along with her.

Equally noteworthy is the ballad “I Miss You” and the powerhouse tune “When We Were Young,” where she shows off her impeccable pipes. The piano-driven “Remedy” is empowering and optimistic. “Water Under the Bridge” displays her versatility as a recording artist, and the autobiographical “River Lea” is haunting yet captivating.

The piano-driven “Love in the Dark” is heartbreaking, while “Million Years Ago” is hypnotic, and it is worthy of the repeat button. Her CD closes with the powerful “All I Ask” and the mid-tempo yet gorgeous “Sweetest Devotion.”

The Verdict

Overall, Adele is amazing on her latest studio offering 25, and proves that she only gets better with each and every release. “Million Years Ago” is worth the price of the album alone. It garners 5 out of 5 stars.
