Review: Abi Ann rocks on new country single ‘Future Ex-Boyfriend’ (Includes first-hand account)

Abi Ann is only 17 years old and she hails from Texas. “Future Ex-Boyfriend” was released to the radio airwaves on March 17. Her spitfire vocals are reminiscent of Taylor Swift means Lindsay Ell. It features electric guitar and fiddle instrumentation. It was co-written by such songwriters as Danny Myrick, Ann Marie Boskovich and Danelle Leverett.

She looks stunning in her song’s music video, which was produced by Dallas Wilson, and she commands the stage in the best country-rock way possible.

“Don’t wanna take you home to meet my mama, Don’t care about your dreams or your drama, Don’t wanna talk religion or your politics, Baby, shut your lips, I just need a little kiss,” Abi Ann sings.

Throughout her musical career, Abi Ann has had eight songs places in television and film projects, which include Hello Herman, as well as the soon-to-be-released Cassidy Way. She was honored as “Country Artist of the Year” by the Indy Music Networks in 2013, and she plays both guitar and piano. The songstress is fluent in French, and has traveled to more than 40 countries.

At the 2014 Indie Music Channel Awards, she home five awards including “Best Teen Artist of the Year,” “Best Female Country Artist,” “Best Country Teen,” “Best Female Teen Artist,” as well as “Best Teen Artist Across All Genres.”

The Verdict

Watch out Taylor Swift, especially since Abi Ann is in town, and she is going places. Her bubbly personality shines throughout this single, and it is quite sassy. “Future Ex-Boyfriend” is catchy and a great deal of fun, due to its sing-along chorus. It garners an A rating.
