Review: 3 Doors Down rocks on new studio album ‘Us and the Night’ (Includes first-hand account)

Their CD opens with the upbeat and refreshing “The Broken” and it is followed by the laid-back yet seductive “In The Dark.”

“Still Alive” is spitfire and rocking with neat guitar instrumentation. “Believe It” is filled with positivity, while
“Living In Your Hell” is melodically and lyrically powerful.

“Inside Of Me” is a gorgeous acoustic ballad on the project. “I Don’t Wanna Know” is a tune that was made for their live shows for their fans to sing along to. Equally charming is the autobiographical ballad “Pieces Of Me,” which ought to be enjoyed for its simplicity.

Love Is A Lie” is up-tempo and infectious, while the title track “Us and the Night” has a catchy chorus and neat hooks. It closes with the piano-driven ballad “Fell From The Moon,” which stands out as one of the album’s finest tracks.

The Verdict

Overall, 3 Doors Down delivers on their latest studio album, Us and The Night. It garners 4.5 out of 5 stars.
