article imageOp-Ed: 2015 MTV VMA predictions on who will win 'Video of the Year'

By Markos Papadatos     Aug 29, 2015 in Music
The 2015 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) will take place on August 30 in Los Angeles, and Digital Journal predicts who will take home the "Video of the Year" award.
This year's five nominees for the prestigious "Video of the Year" category include Beyoncé for "7/11," Kendrick Lamar for "Alright," Mark Ronson (featuring Bruno Mars) for "Uptown Funk," Ed Sheeran for his ballad "Thinking Out Loud," as well as Taylor Swift (featuring Kendrick Lamar) for "Bad Blood."
There should not be a major surprise here. The winner should be global music star Taylor Swift for smash single "Bad Blood," where she collaborates with rapper Kendrick Lamar.
Swift's music video for "Bad Blood" broke YouTube records, and has almost received approximately half a billion views. The song reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, thus becoming the sole radio single by a female artist to reach the top of the Hot 100 charts this year. In addition, Swift leads with the most nominations at this year's MTV VMA ceremony with ten nods, eight of which were for her "Bad Blood" music video.
"Bad Blood" resonated well with her fans when she performed it live at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, as part of her "1989 World Tour" for a packed stadium.
