article imageNate Green talks 'Wild and Free,' new music and fans Special

By Markos Papadatos     Jul 28, 2014 in Music
Up-and-coming country singer Nate Green chatted with me about his new single "Wild and Free" and his plans for the future.
Regarding his new single, he said, "I was travelling a lot and I was trying to put different sounds together. I really wanted to get outside of the normal Nashville sound, so I tried to find my own type of writing and my own style, and this was one of the first songs that came about from that."
Green added, "I really wanted to depict the song in a visual and creative way, so I had this Bonnie and Clyde idea in my head, and I really wanted to bring that to life. I bounced around different ideas with the director and we came up with this action series video, so it was pretty awesome."
As Digital Journal reported, his music video and single for "Wild and Free," were well-received.
Last month, Green was named in Teen.com's "10 of the Hottest Guys You’ve Ever Seen in Country Music." "That was crazy," he said with a laugh. "I was actually driving home and my manager sent me that link, and I couldn't believe it, but it was really cool."
Throughout his career, Green has opened shows for an array of musical acts that include Little Big Town, Dierks Bentley, Zac Brown Band and Latin sensation Gloria Trevi.
In the near future, Green is getting ready to release some new music in the fall. "We are gearing up a lot of things and we are really starting to get some momentum that way. I am excited for everyone to hear everything that we have going on. You work on songs forever, but the moment they come out is really cool," he said.
Green continued, "With a different style and presentation, people can expect something very similar to 'Wild and Free,' but it is very unexpected because I am pushing the boundaries and edges even more with what I am doing. I think it will be really surprising for people in general to hear it, as well as for the people that are following me now."
"Once the album comes out, it will be good, just because I can show everybody exactly what I have been working on, and exactly what I have been trying to tell them the whole time," he added.
A Kentucky native, Green has traveled around the world and visited such countries as Germany, Switzerland, France, Spain, Mexico, and such American cities as New York, Miami, Los Angeles and Nashville.
His fans are affectionately dubbed as "Wild Things" and he noted that they came up with that name on their own. "A couple of people a while ago really started driving my social media and everything, and they tried to pick different names and 'wild things' came about, and it stuck, so that is what we call ourselves right now," he said.
"I would not be in this position that I am in without the fans. I feel they really latched on to what 'Wild and Free' was about, and they just really spread that around, and it has been huge. I appreciate everything that they have done for me, and for riding with me the whole way," he concluded.
