Meghan Trainor has shattered a record this year with "All About That Bass" topping the Billboard Hot 100 charts for eight weeks.
According to an article in Billboard, this becomes the longest-reigning No. 1 single from an artist on the Epic Records label; moreover, it is the longest chart-topping single by a female artist this year, shattering Iggy Azalea's record with her smash hit "Fancy."
New York fans of Trainor can see the songstress live at The Paramount in Huntington on November 13, where she will be headlining, so it is the ideal opportunity to hear "All About That Bass" live, among other new songs from Trainor's upcoming studio album.
Trainor co-wrote "All About That Bass" with Grammy-winning songwriter and producer Kevin Kadish.
A Massachusetts native, Trainor is two weeks away from tying Pharrell's record of 10 weeks at No. 1 this year with the upbeat "Happy," and she is only one week away from tying Lorde's record of nine weeks at No. 1 with "Royals," which topped the charts in 2013.
