By Markos Papadatos     Jul 9, 2016 in Music
Matt Wade from the band My Silent Bravery chatted with Digital Journal about his new single "Drunk Off The Sun" and its music video.
The single, "Drunk Off the Sun" came about through a good friend of Wade's in music named Evan. "He introduced me to Denna DellaCiopa and we decided to do so some co-writing. It was really interesting as we did it over Skype. I was in Massachusetts and she was in Los Angeles. The outcome was 'Drunk Off The Sun,'" he said.
His video for "Drunk off the Sun" deals with various fun summer activities, as well as enjoying the summer season. "I wanted the video to feel very organic and have a natural feel. The idea behind the video is just a bunch of friends hanging out, locally, on a summer day, doing fun summer activities. The video features some of my friends, Joffrey, Shauna, Charlie, Bill, Amanda and Sarah. The majority of the video was shot on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Massachusetts," he said.
He describes his musical genre as "inspirational acoustic-driven pop-rock." Throughout his career, Wade has toured with singer-songwriter Ryan Cabrera, which was a great experience. "Touring with Ryan was fun. Good dude and great musician! When I toured with him, Jason Castro and Deleasa were also on the bill so there was a lot of great music to be heard," he said.
Regarding his plans for the future, he said, "Right now, I plan to continue to support the latest single release 'Drunk Off The Sun' and follow that up with another single within the next couple of months called 'Warning Signs.' Shortly thereafter, I plan to release a new album entitled, 'Breakthrough.' I got some tour dates on the books as well with Eric Hutchinson, Elliott Yamin, and Blake Lewis along with a few talk show appearances."
On his songwriting inspirations, he said, "I really want to inspire others. I had a sports injury in my youth that I have been working hard to overcome and through that process I have learned that I really want to make music that inspires others to overcome their challenges."
For their fans, Wade concluded, "I would love to thank all the #Braveheart fans out there for their continued love and support. There is much new music on the way so I am very excited for all of you to hear it!"
