Country superstar Martina McBride has some exciting news for her fans. She has inked a new record deal with Nash Icon Music.
McBride has signed with a venture that is jointly affiliated with the Big Machine Label Group and Cumulus, which will produce her new music and live events.
She sat down for an interview with Today show correspondent Jenna Bush Hager at her Nashville, Tennessee, home, where she shared some of her holiday memories and exciting plans for the new year.
Most recently, in October McBride published her first cookbook entitled Around the Table, via William Morrow and HarperCollins Publishing, which was well-received by Digital Journal. During the same month, she played a show at the NYCB Theatre at Westbury, which was "spectacular."
Her latest album, Everlasting, had made history especially since she became the first solo female artist to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums charts, with an independently released and distributed album, in the chart's 50-year history. This marked the fifth chart-topping CD of her career.
McBride has sold in excess of 18 million albums to date, and she has been crowned "Female Vocalist of the Year" by the Country Music Association (CMA) four times, and three times by the Academy of Country Music (ACM).
