Electronic dance music (EDM) superstar Martin Garrix issued a press statement regarding his termination from his label, Spinnin' Records and artist management agreement.
Garrix began his press statement by taking the time to thanks his fans for all of their support, and went on to wish them a prosperous new year 2016.
The teen electronic dance music mega-star went on to set the record straight regarding his artist agreement with Spinnin' Records and his termination of his management agreement with MAS. He dubbed the label "one-sided" and "incorrect," and he is taking legal action against them.
For Garrix, the end of this business relationship is liberating and he feels both free and relieved. "I am as of now the rightful owner of all my music and that I can release it when, where and with whoever I want," he said, in a press release.
He subsequently noted that he has a great team of people supporting him, and he can start off his new year with trust and confidence, as well as with new music for his supporters, fans and followers.
In last year's DJ Magazine Top 100 DJs poll, Garrix ranked No. 3.
