Yonkers - The Marshall Tucker Band's lead singer Doug Gray took some time from his schedule to talk about his concert on Sunday, July 13 at Empire City Casino in Yonkers, New York.
At that show, the iconic southern rock group will be sharing the stage with The Bacon Brothers, which consists of Michael and Kevin Bacon (who is also a Golden Globe-winning actor). "We are definitely looking forward to playing there," Gray said.
Most recently, The Marshall Tucker Band played a show at the Paramount Theatre Hudson Valley in Peekskill, New York, and they also performed at this year's CMA Music Festival in Nashville, Tennessee, which was an enthralling experience for Gray and his band, especially since he realized that there is a big number of fans that are enjoying their music. "The fans see that we put a lot of passion in our live performances, and they keep coming to our shows for over 40 years," he said. "The standing ovations that we receive each night are always exciting."
Gray acknowledged that this year's CMA Music Festival turned out to be a "great day" indeed, and they were privileged enough to perform live with multi-Grammy-winning singer, songwriter and instrumentalist Ricky Skaggs.
As Digital Journal previously reported, The Marshall Tucker Band played at The Paramount in Huntington, New York, this past March, which was well-received.
The Marshall Tucker Band recently made Digital Journal's "Most Overdue Acts for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction," and Gray was flattered to hear the news.
Ever-gracious, Gray feels that performing live after all these decades is still his proudest moment, and whether or not they ever do get inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Ohio, would be the icing on the cake.
