Marc Blackham from EC Twins talks DJ Mag poll and New York shows (Includes interview)

Along with his twin brother, Allister Blackham, Marc makes up the acclaimed EDM duo EC Twins.

On August 4 and 5, EC Twins performed at Fold Festival in Riverhead, New York, and on August 6, they played at Lavo Nightclub in New York City. “Lavo was great,” Marc admitted. “Lavo has some of the best-looking crowd in New York. It has the high-end crowd, and it’s awesome. It is great to have that fan-base as well.”

Marc added, “In Riverheard, we played for Nile Rodgers and we performed with Pharrell Williams, Duran Duran, Chaka Kahn and Keith Urban, and they were all awesome.”

EC Twins launched a campaign to raise awareness for the 2015 DJ Magazine Top 100 DJs poll, with the hope that they will be included in that coveted list. “This year is the first time that we decided to try and reach the DJ Mag Top 100. In the past, we saw us existing with our cult following and we have done very well that way, and our fans have continued to grow that way. Then, it came around to this year, and we thought we belong there, so we have decided to go for it,” he said. “We filmed a parody video, and we shot a lot of scenes, where we make fun our ourselves.”

On their future plans, he said, “We are always busy, our shows are always sold-out because our crowd exists outside of the house music fraternity. We have our own indoor audience, and once we merge it with the DJ Magazine, we are going to take our next big step.”

Marc noted that he and his brother lived in Athens, Greece, for a while, and he praised Greek food as being the world’s best cuisine.
