By Markos Papadatos     Nov 26, 2014 in Music
Lzzy Hale, the lead singer and guitarist, from the Grammy-winning hard rock band Halestorm chatted about their third studio album and tour dates with country superstar Eric Church.
On November 25, they played a live show at The Space at Westbury in Long Island, New York. "That was freaking awesome," she exclaimed. "It has been crazy so far."
They are working on their third studio album, which will be produced by veteran Nashville producer Jay Joyce, which will be released in early 2015. "We just finished the record and we literally trying to decide on the first single as we speak. We are excited for everybody to hear it," she said. "Jay Joyce is a complete mad scientist and he is just a rocker dude."
Regarding their album's song selection process, she said, "In all honesty, it was very difficult to narrow it down. We ended up putting a little bit more on it than last time. When you listen to this collection of songs, it is very unapologetically us. There are going to be a lot of crazy things in there. We are definitely wearing our influences on our sleeves. Each song has its own personality on there."
Halestorm is joining country mega-star Eric Church on the second run of his blockbuster "Outsiders World Tour," which will begin on January 8 in New Orleans, Louisiana. "It's awesome. His entire camp is so nice and they are spoiling us a little bit," she said with a sweet laugh. "It's very cool. A lot of Eric's fan-base is very rock and roll as it is."
On a personal note, the lead songstress was honored with Gibson USA's Limited Edition Lzzy Hale Explorer, an iconic new guitar that was inspired by her rebellious spirit and distinctive style. To learn more about this new guitar, click here.
Her future with the band will involve "a lot of touring" and "not a lot of sleep," and she couldn't be happier. "Hopefully, there will not too much tequila," she said with a laugh. "It's very exciting to see what happens next. We are definitely going to be touring outside the country very soon and we are definitely going to make a trip to Europe to see our fans there. Hopefully, you will be sick of us by the end of the next couple of years."
Halestorm is motivated each day simply by their energized fans. "We hear so many awesome stories and a lot of these things reach their ways into the song subjects," she said.
For Halestorm, the word success has been a collection of small moments, such as getting a national tour, a Grammy win, among other cool events. "We have had a lot of tiny successes all the time. This is cool, we are a band, we go out there and rock and make music and touch a lot of different people. It's just the best job in the world," she said.
