New York - Eric Gunderson from the country duo Love and Theft chatted about their "Night That You'll Never Forget" tour. Digital Journal has all the information.
Their tour will feature such guest stars as country singers Joel Crouse, DJ Rod Youree and DJ DU. It kicks off on October 16 in Portland, Maine. "We are excited about it," Gunderson said. "We are thrilled to be out here. We have had headlining tours before, but we never had a name for them, nor consistent opening acts. It has been fun seeing how many tickets we can sell and it is refreshing to see all the fans coming out and really supporting us stronger than ever, so it's really cool."
On October 30, they will be playing at the Gramercy Theatre in New York City. "I am originally from New York, so I am really looking forward to seeing some friends and family at that show," he said. "We have never played at Gramercy before. We have heard some really good things about it. We are just grateful that we still have a job making music."
In a few weeks they will be vying for yet another Country Music Association (CMA) award in the "Vocal Duo of the Year" category. "This is our third nomination now, and we are happy and proud that we are still in the conversation. There are other acts in the category that have had better years than us, but I think our longevity speaks for itself. It's always a fun award show and it's great to see Brad [Paisley] and Carrie [Underwood] host it. To be a part of that is really cool."
On their future plans, Gunderson said, "We just got out of the studio, and we have been recording a new album. It's all brand new songs and we have been playing some of them on our tour. It's a stripped-down record with a lot of acoustics and some cool key parts on it. We want to keep our fans interested and engaged, so we want to put out something different. We are trying to evolve and change and we try to keep up with the country format. We will see what people think. There are parts of the record that have a gospel sound and a honky tonk sound, and a lot of acoustic pop-rock material. It's very eclectic for Stephen and myself."
Gunderson concluded by revealing that they have a brand new single coming out in a few weeks on SiriusXM, entitled "Whiskey on My Breath," which he dubbed as one of his personal favorite songs that they have ever recorded.
