article imageLady Gaga tells Howard Stern she was raped 9 years ago

By Nate Smith     Dec 3, 2014 in Music
New York - Lady Gaga was sexually assaulted at the outset of her music career, the grammy-award winning artist revealed Tuesday in an interview with Howard Stern.
Gaga said she was raped by a record producer 20 years older than she.
The admission came as the musician explained her motivation and the backstory of the song, "Swine," which she performed earlier this year at the South by Southwest music festival and included Gaga being thrown up on during the show.
The assault occurred nine years ago, when Lady Gaga was 19, she said.
Gaga described the song as being about "demoralization." She goes on:
The song is about rage and fury and passion and I had a lot of pain that I wanted to release.
Lady Gaga went on to tell Stern that her abuser used to tell people the couple was dating.
She said during the interview that she's been traumatized by the rape, and that it affected her more about four or five years after it occurred, than in the immediate aftermath.
The admission didn't come easily, as Stern, usually known more as an in-your-face shock jock, politely prodded Gaga along during the interview.
