On his new single “Amateur at Love,” Wolf said, “This song was probably one of the most genuine songs I have ever written. It’s a song admitting that I was wrong and maybe I am the one with a commitment problem. The industry I am in doesn’t allow me to have much free time in order to nourish a healthy relationship. I travel a lot, I work long hours in the studio creating, surrounded by people at parties and events. It can be tough for any significant other. I understand that now.”
He continued, “The song came about out of frustration with myself. After all these years and experiences in being in romantic relationships, I still haven’t fully figured out how to master love and in turn hold down a girlfriend for more than a year long. I felt it was just something I maybe had to admit to myself that I was just an amateur at. I seem to be doing well in business, family, friends and social life, yet my love life is just failing.”
Regarding his plans for the future, Wolf said, “Firstly, short term plans include releasing the new single and the music video for ‘Amateur At Love,’ which drops on May 6. Then, releasing my new EP The Export Vol. 1 on June 17 worldwide. Once that’s doing it’s thing, then we have plans for touring Canada and the world starting this summer. The long terms plans are definitely settling down one day with a wife and having kids. It will be a great adventure as well. I am looking forward to it. Not any time soon though.”
His biggest influences in life are his parents, who motivate him from day to day. “My parents are retired and I helped move them over here from Dubai to Montreal, where they love it now! I am proud to be there for them in every way. They pretty much motivate me to keep doing better,” he said.
His greatest musical inspirations include the late “King of Pop” Michael Jackson, Prince, Chicago, Peter Cetera, Boyz II Men, Sting and Stevie Wonder.
For aspiring musicians, he underscored the importance of staying true to yourself. “Change for no one if you truly believe that’s what it should be,” he said.
“I love you all for your constant support,” Wolf told his fans. “You have no idea what it has meant to me, especially that I’ve always been an ‘Export’ feeling like I didn’t belong in any one place. You gave me that sense of acceptance no matter where I was in the world. I am forever indebted and can’t wait for all of you to hear my new EP! It hope it gives you as much as it gave me while making it. Love and respect.”
