East Meadow - Country singer John King chatted with me about his latest single "Tonight Tonight," as well as his upcoming concert at Eisenhower Park in Long Island on September 6, and pop sensation Katy Perry.
His latest single "Tonight Tonight," was co-written by Marshall Altman, Dylan Atlman and Andy Cortes. It was co-produced by Doug Johnson and Marshall Altman. "I wrote 9 out of the 11 songs from my album, which is coming out at the end of the year, and that was one I heard about a month before I starting cutting songs, and I just fell in love with it. I love the song's message about tonight being the best night of one's life and it stuck in my head and I decided to cut it and I'm glad I did. The song is doing great so far," he said.
"Tonight Tonight" is heard regularly on the radio airwaves, including New York's hit country radio station, Nash FM's 94.7. "That feels great. I really appreciate all of their support, especially with the people in the New York area supporting my music. It is such a huge honor," he said.
Speaking of Nash FM 94.7, King will be playing a show on September 6 at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, New York, along with The Voice Season 4 winner and country star Danielle Bradbery and country duo Maddie and Tae for their "Last Summer Bash," which will be hosted by acclaimed radio personalities Jesse Addy and Kelly Ford. "We are doing a show for Nash FM 94.7. It is one of the greatest stations in the country, and they have been really supportive of my song 'Tonight Tonight.' I am really looking forward to doing that show with these great artists, Danielle and Maddie and Tae. I have never been to Long Island," he said.
King added, "I have never met Kelly Ford before, but I tweeted her a few times and she seems like such a sweet lady. I cannot wait to meet her on September 6. I have heard great things about her and she seems like a great person."

A Demorest, Georgia, native, King revealed that he signed to his label, Black River Entertainment, in 2013 and he is working with a great team of people over there. "It's a great home and a new record label, and they know what they are doing," he said.
King noted that he graduated from the University of Georgia in Athens with a Bachelor's of Business Administration (BBA) degree in marketing and music business. "I graduated from the University of Georgia about three years ago and I moved to Nashville and got my record deal, and here I am," he said.
He got married six months ago and shared that he is a "huge family person." "I just got married to my high school sweetheart, so I have a really sweet wife, and a great family that supports me. I am just blessed to be doing this, and I am so happy to be out here on the road, entertaining people. It's a lot of miles, but it is fun and I really enjoy it. I am happy to be where I am at right now," he said.
King listed pop songstress Katy Perry as his dream female duet choice. "I have always been a huge fan of hers. I think she has a great voice and a great personality, and she is an amazing live performer, so it would be fun to do something with her," he said.
