Wantagh - Long Island fans of veteran rock star John Fogerty are in for a real treat. He will be playing a show at the Nikon at Jones Beach Theater on August 5.
He will be joined by co-headliner Jackson Browne (known for "Doctor My Eyes," "Take It Easy" and "Somebody's Baby") and for an exclusive concert, where there will be one stage in Wantagh, Long Island, with two songwriting legends.
As Digital Journal reported, this past January, he played two shows in the Long Island area at The Paramount.
Fogerty is best known for his musical work as the front-man of the iconic rock band Creedence Clearwater Revival, as well as a solo artist. In addition to his lead vocals, Fogerty also plays lead guitar, harmonica, keyboards and saxophone.
As a songwriter, he has penned such standard songs as "Proud Mary," "Fortunate Son," "Born On The Bayou," as well as "Who'll Stop The Rain."
A California native, Fogerty has been featured in Rolling Stone Magazine's list of "100 Greatest Guitarists" at No. 40, as well as on their list of "100 Greatest Singers" at No. 72.
As part of Creedence Clearwater Revival, Fogerty was inducted into the coveted Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993, one of the highest honors bestowed upon any rock and roll musician.
