Country star Joe Nichols chatted about his latest single "Hard To Be Cool," as well as his upcoming concerts in New York.
Regarding his new single "Hard To Be Cool," he said, "It's a fun song. It is perfect for the spring and summertime. I think it took off at the right time."
The single, co-produced by veteran producer Mickey Jack Cones, sits at No. 22 on the Billboard Hot Country Airplay charts. Nichols added that the director, Ford Fairchild, who directed his song's lyric video, did an exceptional job.
Nichols' uplifting new tune garnered a rave review from Digital Journal.
On June 12, Nichols will be playing at the "Taste of Country" festival, in Buffalo, and he will be performing at this year's inaugural Farmborough Festival on June 26 in New York. "I am looking forward to that, since its their first year doing it. There are a lot of country fans up in New York," he said.
Nichols shared that he is in the studio working on new music, and he already recorded six tracks for his upcoming project. "I love the new songs that we cut for it," he said.
Along with country superstar Luke Bryan, Nichols was one of only two artists in 2014 to spend more than two weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay charts when "Yeah" stayed at the top spot for three weeks.
