Singer-songwriter Jessie James Decker chatted about her special six-song EP "Comin' Home" that she released on April 18.
She and husband, professional football wide receiver Eric Decker from the New York Jethave their own hit reality series "Eric & Jessie: Game On" which is airs on Sunday nights on the E! network. "We are in the second season and if people have been watching, they have seen our process of going to the ultrasound and seeing our baby girl, how I am handling being pregnant and Eric going to the Super Bowl and being a wife to him, while maintaining my career. There is a lot still to watch," she said.

This morning, Jessie woke up to a great surprise: her Comin' Home EP topped the iTunes charts, becoming her first album to achieve this milestone. "I am so excited and I cannot believe this happened," she exclaimed. "These are songs that I have writing and working on for a long time. I co-wrote 4 out of 6 of them. I was really passionate about them and I felt that they went so well together. They are a good selection of where I am at in my life right now musically."
As an independent recording artist, she had the creative freedom to do this entire project herself and she gave her fans the music that they wanted to hear. "It feels pretty good that I did this on my own and with these songs, the EP went to No. 1 on iTunes," she said.
She selected "Coming Home" as her favorite track on the album since it is about her husband, Eric, but her proudest moment as a songwriter is "Breaking Your Heart" due to the "heart and soul" she put into that song.
Another special tune is the closing track "Mama Wrote You a Lullaby," which she wrote for her newborn daughter, Vivianne Rose. "That definitely was emotional. I cried a lot through it," she said.
She is motivated each day by her daughter who inspires her to be "a good person, a good mother and a good example." "I want to make everyone proud and enjoy life," she said.
Regarding her future plans, she hopes to tour again in the summer, write more songs on a weekly basis and get more music together, in an effort to release it down the road. Jessie hopes to release a music video for one of the songs on the new EP, depending on which tune people gravitate towards the most.
She listed country star Randy Houser as her dream male duet choice in country music, since she is drawn to his soulful, raspy vocals. "That would be amazing," she said.
