Fans of 14-year-old vocal sensation Jackie Evancho are in for a real treat. Her third studio album, "Awakening," will be released on September 23 and it will coincide with an international tour.
This will mark her first album under her worldwide recording agreement with the Sony Music Masterworks imprint Portrait. In August of 2014, Evancho will film a new PBS Special that will air in December.
Her new CD will include the haunting folk song "The Rains of Castamere" from HBO's hit series Game of Thrones, the classic tune "Ave Maria," "Think of Me" from Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera, as well as her cover version of U2's "With or Without You."
This will not only be an album of covers. It will include original material such as "Take Me There" and "Open Fields of Grace."
"Some of these songs are more on the pop side, and have a little faster beat than the songs I usually sing, but it was really fun," Evancho said in a press release.
Evancho rose to prominence as a result of her impressive debut on the reality competition NBC's America's Got Talent, where she performed at the age of 10. Her success on that show lead her to a record deal with Columbia Records, where she released various successful recordings.
This past June, Evancho belted out a stunning rendition of the Judy Garland classic "Over the Rainbow" at the Songwriters Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
