Teen music sensation Jackie Evancho will play at the 2014 National Memorial Day Concert on May 25. It will air live on PBS from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol.
This year will mark this 25th anniversary of this show, which has become an American tradition. It will feature live performances and dramatic readings by such individuals as Jennifer Nettles (from Sugarland), General Colin L. Powell, actress-singer Megan Hilty, as well as actors Gary Sinise and Joe Mantegna, among others.
Blessed with a classically-trained voice, Evancho is in the studio hard at work completing her forthcoming album, Awakening, which will be released on Portrait/Sony Music Masterworks on September 23, 2014.
At 10 years old, Evancho garnered worldwide recognition after making a stunning debut on NBC's America's Got Talent, which subsequently lead to a record deal with Columbia Records, where she released a string of successful recordings such as her double-platinum CD O Holy Night, her gold-certified Dream With Me and Heavenly Christmas and Songs From The Silver Screen.
Thanks to her commercial successes, Billboard Magazine included Evancho on their list of "music movers-and-shakers under the age of 21" in 2011 and 2012.
