article imageInterview: Mark Tremonti talks new rock solo album 'Dust' Special

By Markos Papadatos     May 9, 2016 in Music
Mark Tremonti chatted with Digital Journal about his latest studio album, "Dust," which is a part of his side project Tremonti.
Tremonti is best known for his guitar and vocal work with such rock bands as Creed and Alter Bridge.
Regarding his song selection for Dust, he said, "It was like picking a sporting team back in grade school. One captain picked the best song, and the next captain picked the next song. I tried to make it as even as possible."
His songwriting was inspired by his life, the life of the people around him, and simply by watching the news. "I was inspired by as many different things as possible," Tremonti said.
The acclaimed rocker listed the title track tune "Dust," as his favorite song from the album. "A lot of people like the ballad side of this record," he admitted.
This summer, Tremonti will be touring the United States with Alter Bridge, and he hopes to do a tour with his band Tremonti to promote his latest studio effort Dust. On July 30, they will be performing at the Nikon at Jones Beach Theater on Long Island. "Right now I am making the most of every second. I'm trying to be everywhere I can be at once. It's a busy time since I'm promoting a new Tremonti record and at the same time, I'm recording a new Alter Bridge album. This is the busiest musical year that I've ever had," he said.
