Interview: Leah Turner talks new country single ‘Cowboy’s Love’ (Includes interview)

Regarding her new single “Cowboy’s Love,” Turner said, “It was pretty awesome to be able to write it, and touch back into my roots, being raised by a cowboy, and the life that I grew up living. I wanted to show that cowgirl side of me. My grandfather was a cowboy and so was my father, so I just wanted to find that side. ‘Cowboy’s Love’ is really an analogy for a strong man that stands besides you. The first love that I felt was a cowboy’s love, and it taught me how to love and how to be loved. I think every girl is looking for that man that will stand by them, and be strong with him through the good and the bad.”

Turner further added that “this song is the soundtrack to my life.”

Filming the music video for the song was quite fun for Turner, especially since it was a “family event.” “I shot that video in California, and all of the things in the video belonged to my father, and he had a little cameo in the end. It was cool to see him sprinkle through that video. My mom makes jewelry, so I was wearing a lot of her jewelry in there, so it was like a family event,” she said.

Turner’s New Year’s resolutions include to go back into eating healthy, especially after all the holidays, and to take in every moment and “to enjoy those moments.” “I would like to enjoy the process of life and people that come in and out of it, and just be grateful,” she said.
