On his July 8 show at Marquee Nightclub in New York, he said, “What I like about playing at Marquee is that it has an older crowd, so I’ll probably keep it house here, and I will play my classics. That will be the tactic for tonight.”
He shared that his collaboration with TWOLOUD was just released on July 4. “It has been getting a lot of support from fellow DJs,” he said. “I am constantly making tracks and doing collaborations. There is always an influx of music.”
Each day, Laidback Luke is motivated by his passion for living and discovery. “I am passionate to learn new things each and every day, and that keeps me going. Plus, the wonderful messages about my music and how it has helped people through rough times. That’s the goal in what I do,” he said. “To be able to motivate and inspire people is a gift.”
“Success is to reach out to as many people as possible and to give them positive energy and great memories,” he further added.

He has been in the music industry for two decades, and he feels that the key to longevity is “keeping passionate about what you do.” “It’s not about the money, it’s about delivering constant quality and excellent, without doing it for any other reason than giving it your best shot,” he said.
Laidback Luke shared that he was a big fan of R&B princess Aaliyah before she passed away, and he had always wanted to collaborate with her before her tragic death.
In his spare time, he enjoys practicing and teaching Kung Fu at a school in the Netherlands and working out. “A fit life is very interesting, and I pay attention to my diet. It fascinates me right now,” he said.
