By Markos Papadatos     Jul 1, 2016 in Music
Powerhouse vocalist Chelsea Dash chatted with Digital Journal about her new single "Quicksand," and her dream male duet partners.
A four-octave vocal powerhouse singer, Dash released her new single "Quicksand" on June 24, which was produced by Tomas Costanza, who has worked with the group Boys Like Girls). "Quicksand" is the latest single from her forthcoming studio album Dangerous, which is available on July 22. In addition to Costanza, Dash is working with other veteran producers on her new musical effort, which include Smitty Soul, and Goodwill and MGI. "I am excited to release the album at the end of July, and then I will have a new single out called 'Fugitive'," she said.
Her two favorite songs from the new album include "Fugitive" and the closing track "Sticks and Stones."
The songstress was inspired to write the tune "Quicksand" about a man that one of her friends was dating. The lyrics of the song narrate that toxic romance. "We were referring to him as 'Mr. Quicksand,' and he was a bad boy," she said. "The lyric video captured the moodiness and whole vibe to it, and it showcased that in a unique way."
She listed Justin Timberlake as her dream male duet partner.
Dash is an alumna of the Berklee College of Music. She has been entertaining audiences with her stunning voice from an early age. She has played at such high-profile venues as the White House, Staples Center, Madison Square Garden and the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, as well as performed her original material at bars and clubs throughout the country. "Some of these performances were for NBA games and for national anthems," she said.
