Idol winner Nick Fradiani sings national anthem at Yankee game

He surprised his fans with a live performance of the “Star Spangled Banner” at the Yankees vs. Red Sox game on the previous night.

In addition, Fradiani’s breakthrough radio single and Idol coronation song “Beautiful Life” has made the Top 30 on the Billboard Hot Adult Contemporary charts this week. This comes on the heels of the release of his latest music video, which was directed by Shane Drake, who has worked with such artists as Kelly Clarkson and Paramore.

“As a Connecticut native, I grew up watching the Yankees,” Fradiani said in a press release. “Yankee Stadium is an iconic place and I still can’t believe I had the opportunity to sing the national anthem there before one of sports greatest rivalries.”

Fradiani is out on the road touring as part of the 2015 “American Idols Live! Tour,” and is playing tonight at Beacon Theatre in New York City.
