January 7 was a night to remember for country star Hunter Hayes. He took home the "Best Male Country Artist" award at the People's Choice Awards.
Country trio The Band Perry presented him with the award. "Wow," Hayes exclaimed in his acceptance speech. "Ha. Wow. That's quite the category and I don't know what I am doing with this, so thank you so much. I am so blessed to get to do what I love. You guys give us a chance to do what we do. I have unbelievable parents who believed in my obsession with music. I have a fantastic team around me, fantastic friends and loved ones who believed in me, and the best fans in the world. You guys are absolutely incredible."
Ever humble, Hayes added, "Thanks for giving me a voice, and thanks for giving me a reason to believe in myself. God Bless you, and thank you."
In his People's Choice award category, Hayes bested such esteemed male artists as Luke Bryan, Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley, and label-mate Blake Shelton, proving that he is a true force to be reckoned with.
Next month, Hayes will be vying for a 2015 Grammy award in the "Best Country Solo Performance" category for his inspirational ballad, "Invisible."
In October, the Atlantic Nashville recording artist surpassed two million fans on Facebook.
