article imageHardwell named 'Best DJ' in the world for second consecutive year

By Markos Papadatos     Oct 19, 2014 in Music
Dutch DJ Hardwell reclaims his throne in DJ Magazine's Top 100 DJs poll, as he is crowned "No. 1 DJ" for the second consecutive year.
In 2013, Hardwell had made history in those charts — at the age of 25 he became the youngest DJ to ever win the coveted fan-voted title. One year later, after multiple hit singles and worldwide stops on his "I Am Hardwell" tour, he was able to maintain that top spot.
A few weeks prior, as Digital Journal reported, Hardwell was honored as the "Best Electro House DJ" at the Ibiza DJ Awards. This past May, he had launched his website in a new interactive format.
He will be playing in New York's Madison Square Garden on November 15, which ought to be quite the EDM spectacle for his fans in the "Big Apple." Hardwell's radio show, "Hardwell On Air," is broadcasting across 80 international stations weekly and it holds a solid spot in the iTunes Top 10 pod-casts in over 45 countries. He has millions of fans on Facebook and Twitter and he has regular question-and-answer sessions with them in his "Behind the Decks" series, which gives his followers a glimpse into his musical world.
Hardwell remarked in a press statement, "To achieve this accolade two years running is an incredible feeling. I've worked really hard this year to give back to the fans and commit to them all that I can and to know they've embraced my music and DJ sets with such open arms leaves me speechless."
