Hit country duo Florida Georgia Line has shattered records with their brand new single "Dirt," the lead track from their upcoming sophomore CD on Republic Nashville.
"Dirt" debuted at No. 1 on the country digital singles chart and No. 2 on the top digital songs, for sales of 182,929 units in their first week; moreover, it secured the No. 1 spot on the all-genre digital songs and country charts in Canada. It debuted at No. 16 on the Billboard Hot Country Airplay charts, their highest debut position to date.
The song catapulted to the top of the iTunes all-genre and country charts in the United States and in Canada. It earned the highest one-week add total in Country Aircheck history with 130 stations, which is quite impressive.
As Digital Journal reported, Florida Georgia Line launched their "Dirt Campaign," in a partnership with the fundraising platform, Omaze, in an effort to benefit Habitat for Humanity, a global non-profit organization which creates affordable housing in partnership with low-income families.
It garnered rave reviews from the majority of the music critics, including Digital Journal.
The reigning Academy of Country Music (ACM) "Vocal Duo of the Year" will be performing at Nickelodeon's inaugural Kids' Choice Sports Awards on July 17. They are also nominated for "Choice Country Group" at the Teen Choice Awards, which will air on August 10 on Fox.
