New York - Swedish recording artist and rapper Elliphant chatted about her 'One More' EP, as well as her upcoming show at Webster Hall in New York.
On October 7, Elliphant will be playing a concert at New York's Webster Hall, along with Femme and they will be opening for Charli XCX. "I think it's a very good crowd for my project, because I look for the young people. My project has been bubbling in the hipster world for a while and it's great to open the door to the more commercial scene. She's the perfect girl to tour with, since she has a very distinct attitude, and she is very clear at what she stands for. She is really tough and it's really cool. I enjoy it, and it's really fun,"
Regarding the song selection process for her One More EP, Elliphant remarked, "We were supposed to do an album actually, but we needed to make one more EP. I was choosy with what songs to put on there, but we found some really high-quality songs on there. It turned out to be a really good EP because it showed people my other side."
She selected the title track of her EP as her personal favorite song on that project. "That song had an amazing vibe, and we had so much fun doing it. I remember being very happy afterwards, and I remember going out with my friends at karaoke bars. I listened to it so much and I was excited about it. I felt it was the perfect song. It's a song dedicated it to my crew."
In the near future, she will be back in the studio finishing up the last recordings of her album, and she hopes to embark on another tour in March. "Everything is day by day in my life. It always have been. I try to take in every little thing that comes my way, cherish it, and make the best out of it," she said. "I want to make some new, good songs. I am a very loyal person when it comes to work. I have fans at this point, and a crew that works really hard to make all this happen."
Elliphant listed rapper Immortal Technique as her dream collaboration choice. She is a true artist in every sense of the word, since in her spare time she enjoys doing drawings and paintings at her house.
For her fans, she concluded, "Cherish your emotions all the time, even if they are bad. You have to look at your emotional life, as your physical life. You have to understand that you are a live power, trapped inside a body, and it's very important to take care of your body. I think it's very important to understand to tears are as important as laughter."
