However, along with announcing the title of his upcoming album, Drake cleared the air on the recent controversy that surrounded him, regarding Rihanna. When performing "Days in the East" at OVO Fest — a song that's
reportedly inspired by Rihanna, whom Drake has dated on-and-off for several years — red images flashed behind him with "what appears to be photos of Rihanna and the numbers 6-6-6." Though Drake hasn't clarified exactly the meaning or reasoning behind portraying those images on stage, on
Twitter today, he clarified that there is no beef between him and Rihanna, by saying:
"Rih is a great girl who I know is about to kill this tour with Eminem. It's all love!!"
He further explained that the '6' flashing throughout had nothing to do with Rihanna, but rather that the sixes correlate with his hometown of Toronto. Continuing to explain on
Twitter, Drake revealed, "My album title is VIEWS FROM THE 6. The 6 is Toronto. "
Intending to move on from the dramatics, Drake decided on focusing on his upcoming tour with Lil Wayne, by
saying:
"Now on to this Drake vs Lil Wayne tour. It's about to be an event every night. I'm going to SNAP on that stage. I DO THIS @LilTunechi."
The Drake vs. Lil Wayne tour kicks off on Friday night at the Darien Lake Performing Arts Center in Darien Lake, NY.
