article imageDJ Andrea Fissore talks 'My World' CD and Armada Music Special

By Markos Papadatos     Jun 3, 2015 in Music
Italian-born and Austria-based DJ and producer Andrea Fissore chatted with Digital Journal about his debut release on Armada Music, "My World."
On the electronic dance music scene, he said, "All kinds of music can be amazing, but for me personally, electronic dance music touches me in a special way. I love when good songs can move deep feelings and powerful emotions."
He added, "Another thing that is special about it, are the parties. Where else can you loose your mind and let all sorrows go as good as on a dance floor? When there is a good vibe between the crowd and the DJ. It's simply magic"
On the song selection for his new CD "My World," he said, "Having the opportunity to do an album was a big challenge, but even a bigger chance for me. I could express so many of my ideas and experiment a lot of different aspects of music, I could follow my intuition and inspirations...that was great. The working process took me over a year and at the end of the day the songs represent my world in that period."
While it was difficult to select a favorite track on the CD, he noted that a special tune is "Shine." "I recorded 'Shine' on my trip to Vietnam last year. I remember being in this amazing city Hoi An, a fantastic place. I just sat down in the evening and the track came out within nothing. I think it is possible to feel this happy, easy going holiday vibe in it."
In the future, he will continue working with Armada Music. He is fond of the people there, and praised them for doing "an amazing job." "I'm so glad about being on board with them," he said.
Fissore added, "I want to develop my sound and skills. I think a good artist never stops to learn and improve. I want to play in new venues and places, cause the DJ-ing was the thing that made me fell in love with electronic music at the beginning, and there is nothing better than seeing people dance to your music."
He shared his love for New York City. "It has great energy, music and art everywhere, I couldn't get enough of it. So to play there is definitely one of the goals, and I hope that happens really soon," he said.
For the acclaimed DJ, music itself is his motivation. "It's the thing in life I love to do even on a very grey and bad day. It has the incredible power to make me feel better again. And in good times the only hard thing is finding enough time to express all the things that I got on my mind," he said. "Then of course being a music producer doesn't only mean expressing your ideas and having fun in the studio. Sometimes you got deadlines, or you have to go over some details again and again, things like that, but then, knowing where I want to go and what I want do, keeps me going and gives me motivation each day."
For future collaborations, he noted that he would love to work with such artists as "Jasmine Thompson and Anna Naklab." "Both of them have an incredible voice and unique flow," he said.
He defined success as "living your dream." "I feel really lucky that I'm doing that right now," he said. "Of course, it is important to have people around you, with whom you can share happiness."
