Canadian country singer Dallas Smith has garnered three Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) awards nominations for this year's award show.
It will take place on September 7 in Edmonton, Alberta, and they will be hosted by Canadian television personality Rick Mercer and acclaimed singer-songwriter Jann Arden.
Smith is up for "Male Artist for the Year," along with Gord Bamford, Dean Brody, Brett Kissel and Bobby Wills.
His Tippin' Point EP is up for "Album of the Year" and the title track is in the running for "Single of the Year." His single garnered 4 out of the 5 stars from Digital Journal as previously reported.
Smith shared his gratitude via a post on his Instagram page. "Thank you for the CCMA nominations! As a male artist these are the 3 big ones you hope for! I very much appreciate this," he posted.
This past November, Digital Journal had the chance to sit down and chat with him after his performance at the Best Buy Theater in New York City, where he opened for such country acts as Florida Georgia Line and Colt Ford.
