article imageCountry singer Jake Owen surprised with two plaques

By Markos Papadatos     Mar 14, 2014 in Music
Nashville - Country music singer-songwriter and RCA Nashville recording artist Jake Owen has a lot to be proud of lately, and rightfully so.
On March 14, Owen gave members of the music industry community an exclusive glimpse of his second major headlining tour, his "Days of Gold" tour. Fans and attendees had gathered at Nashville's Steel Mill, where they watched him do his final rehearsal before his tour officially kicks off next Thursday in Brookings, South Dakota.
Before Owen took the stage, he was in for a real treat. He was surprised with a special presentation of two plaques which were in honor of two career milestones. These included his third studio album Barefoot Blue Jean Night achieving gold certification, as well as for tallying more than 5 million downloads. Thanks to the commercial success of that CD, he secured four consecutive No. 1 singles including the title track, "The One That Got Away," "Alone With You" and "Anywhere With You."
His "Days of Gold" tour will feature such special guests as country groups Eli Young Band, Parmalee and The Cadillac Three, as well as Valory Music Company recording artist Thomas Rhett, all of which will open for him on select dates.
His latest single "Beachin'," is already in the Top 30 on both the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts and the Billboard Hot Country Airplay charts, sitting at No. 28. It is the follow-up to the lead title track single "Days of Gold."
Congratulations to Jake Owen for all of his accomplishments. Hopefully, there will be many more to come.
