Rachel Reinert, as well as brothers Mike and Tom Gossin from the award-winning country trio Gloriana chatted with Digital Journal about their new album "Three."
It will be released tomorrow, June 2, via their record label, Warner Music Nashville, and it was produced by Matt Serletic. "We started off writing and we wrote a lot of songs for this album, and we narrowed them down to the ones that made it. We are very honest with each other and we have a great dynamic and a great team around us. We really trusted our producer and A&R guy. It was really cohesive and something that we really, really love," Rachel said.
Tom added, "We can't wait for the fans to hear it. We worked hard for the last three years. It's a snapshot of our lives out on the road. It deals with the good times and the bad times, and we put our stories on these 12 songs. We are excited for tomorrow. It has been our best-kept secret and we are relieved that our fans will get to hear it with us."
Their lead single, the Top 25 hit "Trouble," was co-penned by Rachel and Mike from the trio. "It's a song that Rachel and I wrote together. We started our writing session one day, and it was going nowhere, so 30 minutes into it, I told her to write about that terrible ex-boyfriend that she had that treated her so horribly, and she decided to do it. The song turned into 'Trouble' and we are super proud of the song and its music video," Mike said.
Tom listed the song "Are You Ready" as his personal favorite from the album Three, and ironically enough, it is the third track on the collection. "It's a song that I wrote with my buddy Josh Kear and it is something really different and we felt good about it, especially since it has an original vibe to it," Tom said. "We just wrote songs that we loved and we wanted to put them out there. We just hope that our fans will love them too."
Mike noted that his favorite tune is their lead single "Trouble," especially since he has his hand in writing it, while Rachel listed the ballad "Lighters." "It's a song about universal love. We really shaped it after our live concerts, and how fans put their lighters us, and how that light unites us all. It is so much fun," Rachel said, referring to "Lighters."
On July 31, they will be performing at Mulcahy's Pub and Concert Hall in Wantagh on Long Island, in support of their new album. "We always coming up to that area. We have some amazing fans out there, and we are looking forward to it," Rachel said. "That day is special for us because it is our mother's birthday," added Mike and Tom.
Their plans for the future include to continue doing what they are doing: playing music for a living. "We want to be the best that we can be, and keep rocking to the free world," Tom and Rachel said.
Gloriana's dream collaboration choices include The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Keith Urban, Little Big Town and Miranda Lambert.
