Nashville - Country music's newest boy band Chasin' Crazy chatted about their "Chasin' Crazy" television show on Great American Country (GAC), as well as their upcoming concert in Long Island, New York.
Regarding their new show on GAC, Jimmy James said, "It's just a show about us and our journey as a young band in Nashville. It's a lot of fun. There are a lot of things going on."
Creigh added, "We don't really label ourselves as a country music boy band, but a lot of our fans have come to that conclusion, since we switch up the vocals and we are fans of the harmony choruses. What sets us apart from being a boy band is that we write our own music and we play our own instruments.
"We are like a young Eagles and Beach Boys," Jimmy James further added.
On October 17, they will be playing a concert at the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts in Long Island, New York, where they will be sharing the stage with hit country duo Thompson Square and country songstress Jana Kramer. "We are going up and we are opening for Jana Kramer and Thompson Square. It will be our very first time in New York," Jimmy James said.
They will be finishing up their forthcoming EP, and they hope that GAC will pick up more episodes for them to film. "That's what we are looking forward in the future," Landon said. "We definitely want to play more live shows, and do more writing."
Jimmie James noted that their group name came during a co-wrote he had a two years ago with two of his friends in Nashville. ""We all have our own version of 'chasing crazy,' so we came up with a song about that, and we thought it would make a great name for a band," he said.
Travis added, "A big motivation for me is getting to wake up every day and do what I have always dreamed about doing and chasing this dream, pursuing it and achieving it. This is a great feeling and a huge motivation." "Our fans motivate us, and we can't do it without them. We stay active with them on social media and we always respond. It is always awesome to hear from them and to sing along with us. That's an unreal and incredible feeling. We are excited," Forest said.
The band members' dream female duet choices in music range from multi-Grammy winner Alison Krauss to Hillary Scott from Lady Antebellum to bluegrass songstress Aoife O'Donovan to Kacey Musgraves to country superstar Carrie Underwood.
Chasin' Crazy is comprised of Jimmy James Hunter on vocals, lead guitar and harmonica, Landon Parker on vocals and acoustic guitar, Forest Miller on vocals, bass, fiddle, mandolin an guitar, Creigh Riepe on vocals, keyboards, guitar, banjo and bass, and finally, Travis Fincher on vocals and drums.
