Dionne Warwick's granddaughter, pop singer Cheyenne Elliott, chatted with Digital Journal about her single "With You" and her upcoming New York concert.
Elliott released her breakthrough dance single "With You," via Dauman/Tarpan Records, which was the No. 3 Breakout on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Charts. "That was very exciting. It is a wonderful song and a wonderful project. The response that I have received has been overwhelming. I am very happy with everything," she said.

For the 20-year-old songstress, music runs through her family roots. Her father, David Elliott, penned Luther Vandross' massive hit single "Here and Now," and Elliott has been performing on stage with her famous grandmother, Dionne Warwick, around the globe, since she was nine years old. "My grandmother brought me on stage for the first time when I was nine, and I was so little and I was very nervous. It was an exciting feeling, and over the years, she brought me on tour with her and I would open up for her. Every summer we would go everywhere, so it has been an amazing experience. She is an amazing grandmother," she said. "My father is a fabulous songwriter and he is so talented. 'Here and Now' is his biggest success to date. It is such a beautiful song."
She continued, "Being mentored by my grandmother has been a dream. She is the best, so to have her help me is great. I am very lucky and blessed."
On June 28, Elliott will be performing at New York City's PrideFest, where she will be following the footsteps of her late cousin, the iconic Whitney Houston, who had headlined the Pier Dance back in 1999. "I am very excited. I have never been to Pride, so I am really looking forward to it," she said. "I am trying to pick out outfits for it, so hopefully, it will be a nice day."
Regarding her plans for the future, she said, "To keep on performing, to keep releasing new music and to keep singing. Hopefully, to continue to do what I love."
Each day, Elliott is motivated by "people's reactions and the positive words" that she gets when she is performing. "The response that I have gotten is amazing," she said.
Elliott listed Grammy winner Sam Smith as her dream male duet choice. "That would be amazing. I love his tone and it would be a dream to get to perform or record with him," she said.
In her spare time, Elliott enjoys spending it with her family and friends. "I really stay connected to the people that matter the most to me," she said.
For Elliott, success means "Getting to be truly happy, and getting to do what you truly love."
