By Markos Papadatos     Jul 18, 2016 in Music
Wantagh - On July 17, Jaren Johnston of The Cadillac Three sat down and chatted with Digital Journal prior to his concert at the Nikon at Jones Beach Theater in New York.
They are out on the road touring with Florida Georgia Line on their "Dig Your Roots" tour, along with fellow country artists Cole Swindell and Kane Brown.
On performing at Jones Beach on Long Island, he said, "We love it here. I didn't realize that we were up here in the middle of all of it. We are actually really close to the city."
Their new album, Bury Me in My Boots, will be released on August 5, via Big Machine Records. "We are excited about it, and then we are going to tour. Then, we are going to tour in Europe for a headlining tour there. We are doing good. We are staying busy," Johnston said.
He listed the title track, "Bury Me in My Boots," as his personal favorite song from the upcoming CD. "I love that song," he said, prior to sharing that his dream duet choices are Tom Petty and Miranda Lambert. "I'm a huge Tom Petty fan and I love Miranda," he added.
Johnston co-penned Jake Owen's latest single, the Top 10 hit "American Country Love Song." "I heard the song is doing pretty good. I'm excited about that song. Jake did a great job on it," he said.
For his Long Island fans, he concluded, "Thanks for coming, and buy the record on August 5."
