article imageCatching up with country singer Elizabeth Lyons Special

Country songstress Elizabeth Lyons took some time from her schedule to talk with me about her new songs "Jeep!" and "#PartyRules."
Most recently, Lyons made Digital Journal's "Top 10 Female Country Singers to Watch in 2014" list.
Her single "Jeep!" was inspired by the young singer's childhood. "Growing up, everyone drove around in jeeps, instead of trucks, so I decided to write a song about that. It would be a really dream for it to get in a jeep commercial someday. That would be really cool," she said. "It's an easy song to listen to and drive around to, and that's exactly what I wanted. It's just a fun, feel-good track."
Being an indie country singer, Lyons has the artistic freedom to release more than one single, and she has another fun song on the iTunes charts called "#PartyRules." "It's doing really well on the iTunes charts and it's different than my EP. It's more of a carefree, fun and 'love for life' song," she said. "I am doing it different than what most artists do. Releasing two singles is something I have more control over."
She revealed that one of the most epic days of her life involved opening for country mega-star Luke Bryan during the Country USA Music Festival. She shared the stage with such artists as Joe Nichols, Charlie Worsham and Drew Baldridge. "It was such an amazing festival. Everybody was so nice there, and it felt good to be back in the Midwest. Luke Bryan was very gracious to a new emerging artist. He gave me a shout-out in front of thousands of people when he performed, which I did not expect at all. My heart was racing at that moment. It was a really magical day," she said with a sweet laugh.
Another fond moment for her was being a part of this year's CMA Music Festival, where her waiting line of anxious fans was extremely long, which was quite flattering. "It was a huge success. I met so many new fans and old friends. It is something that I really love to do, since I love getting to know country fans. They are the best," she said.
Lyons is also extremely supportive of Dr. Justin Piasecki and his philanthropic work with his new skincare line, which supports good causes. "They are so sweet and such great people," she said.
