article imageAs I Lay Dying lead says his band faked their faith

The imprisoned lead singer of the band As I Lay Dying has accused the group of faking their faith. Members have also reacted to the claims as well leading to a debate by fans as to who is telling the truth.
Tim Lambesis, imprisoned for trying to kill his ex-wife, claims that his former band lied about being Christian to gain fans. Allegedly many of the members are atheists but faked their religion in order to get fame and money that their successful band has.
In an interview with the Alternative Press Lambesis goes down what led to his arrest. He claims a variety of factors including the trouble with his children and his work with As I Lay Dying contributed to his mindset at the time of the attempted murder.
You are probably wondering why we aren't saying "former" with Mr. Lambesis. That is because he is technically still a part of the group. The band went on hiatus due to Lambesis being incarcerated. Members had also been at the trial to support him and it looked in many ways like he would be welcomed back after his release. That may have changed quite suddenly after this incident.
As I Lay Dying Guitarist Nick Hipa responded to the accusations by claiming that Lambesis was using this as a way to get sympathy for his crime. "The intent of his defamation is to create an air of sympathy and support under the false pretense of a forthcoming tell-all." said Hipa in a Metal Injection report. Who the public chooses to believe will have a big impact on the lives of everyone involved.
