Andrew Rayel talks Marquee New York show, plans for 2016 (Includes interview)

On his new music video “Chased” with fellow electronic producer and DJ Mark Sixma, Rayel said, “I have been talking with Mark to do this track for a very long time. We started the first idea of ‘Chased’ one year ago in Amsterdam. We went to his studio and we weren’t really happy about the song, so we completed another track which ended up being ‘Chased.’ After we finished it, the song got pretty good support and reactions, and we started sharing ideas for a video.”

Rayel noted that he is very pleased with how the music video came out. “The video looked completely unique and original for me. I was very happy and it got a lot of views on YouTube,” Rayel said.

Tonight, on Christmas Eve, he will be performing at Marquee Nightclub in New York, which is always a fun experience for Rayel. “I am pretty excited to be back because I played Marquee a couple of months ago. I am really happy that I got to be back so soon, and I am playing this special extended 3-hour set on Christmas Eve,” Rayel said. ‘It’s going to be a nice gift for the fans for Christmas, and I am looking forward to do that show.”

Regarding his plans for the New Year, Rayel said, “I started working on my album, so I will be trying to produce more music. Hopefully, by the end of 2016, I will release the album, and we will start touring for the new album.”

When asked about his New Year’s resolutions, Rayel said with a laugh, “I don’t smoke and I don’t do any stuff like that, so I don’t have to quit anything. My New Year’s resolution will be to finish the album by the end of 2016, and hopefully, I will be able to do that.”

This year, Rayel ranked No. 40 on the coveted DJ Magazine Top 100 DJs poll. “It is a pretty important rating for us. I feel honored that people voted for me again this year, and I am No. 40. I am going to produce more music for next year and more shows. It means a lot to me, since it’s my fourth year in the DJ Magazine Top 100,” Rayel concluded.
